CIMA Hermosillo is an acute-care hospital that was developed by CIMA Mexico and opened in May 1996. The city of Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora, is located in the Northwest region of Mexico. CIMA Hermosillo attracts local patients from throughout Sonora, including the communities of Ciudad Obregón, Nogales, Caborca, Magdalena, and Guaymas, as well as providing treatment to many international patients.
The facility currently operates medical/surgical suites, an intensive care unit, and a neonatal intensive care unit. In 2001, CIMA Hermosillo was awarded a five-year and a four-year accreditation by Secretaria de Salud de México (The Mexican Health Ministry), the only such accreditation in northwestern Mexico and one of few nationwide.
In addition to its accreditation from the Joint Commission International, CIMA Hermosillo was awarded a three-year High Complexity Hospital Accreditation by Secretaría de Salud de México–the only such accreditation in northwestern Mexico and one of a select few nationwide. The clinical laboratory, pathology, blood bank, radiology, physical therapy, pharmacy, nuclear medicine and hemodialysis departments are also accredited by the Secretaría de Salud de México.
